What you need to know about applying for Maltese residence through the Malta Permanent Residency Programme (MPRP).

The Malta Permanent Residence Programme (MPRP) was launched in March 2021, as a replacement for the Malta Permanent Residency and Visa Programme. It is available to individuals who want to relocate to Malta and are not a citizen of an EU Member State, the EEA or Switzerland (ie. it is only open to ‘third country’ nationals). To be eligible for this permit, you would need to invest a minimum sum in Maltese real estate or in a minimum value 12-month rental contract and have a substantial capital sum.
