Gavin has been advising expatriates and internationally mobile families for over 30 years and is one of Blevins Franks’ most experienced advisers.
Since joining Blevins Franks in the Algarve in 2000, Gavin has played a significant role in the growth of our Portugal business, helping build a strong and loyal client base that continues to expand largely through client recommendations. His focus has always been on delivering personalised, long-term advice tailored to each family’s financial, tax and succession planning needs.
Gavin was appointed Regional Director in 2023, taking on a wider role sharing best practice across the business, mentoring advisers and reinforcing Blevins Franks’ client-first ethos. Having completed that broader leadership role, he returned to the position of Senior Partner in July 2026, so he could get back to working closely with Algarve clients and spend more time supporting the Portugal team directly.
Prior to joining Blevins Franks, Gavin was a founding partner of an independent firm of financial consultants in the Sultanate of Brunei, where he advised expatriates and high-net-worth families on all aspects of wealth management. He holds the Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA) and the full UK Financial Planning Certificate. He is a member of the Personal Finance Society by Certificate and has completed wealth planning and investment courses in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Sydney, Rome and London.
Gavin is an adviser for Blevins Franks Wealth Management Limited (BFWML) which is registered with the Malta Financial Services Authority. He is a member of the London Institute of Banking and Finance (LIBF).
