James joined Blevins Franks in 2018, bringing seven years’ financial services experience gained in the UK, Europe and Asia. Before relocating to France, James worked for St. James’s Place in Cheshire.

He is a Level 4 qualified financial adviser with European Financial Advisor (EFA) status and is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). He is also fully qualified in Hong Kong and was previously a member of the Hong Kong Confederation of Insurance Brokers.

With 15 years of experience, James specialises in cross-border financial planning, with particular expertise in French and UK inheritance and capital gains taxes, the Monaco tax regime, and UK pensions and the options for British expatriates.

James has been a regular contributor to podcasts and radio broadcasts since 2023, sharing insights on cross-border financial planning and wealth management for expatriates in France. He is now a regular voice on Blevins Franks’ The Expat Chapter France podcast.

Based in our Valbonne office, James helps clients in the Côte d’Azur secure financial peace of mind through personalised tax and wealth management solutions. He is supported by the local team as well as in-house specialists in tax, pensions, trusts and investment research in our London and Malta offices.
