Senior Partner
After graduating from Trinity College Dublin, Cathal spent three years at London-based investment manager Sarasin & Partners, where he looked after high-net-worth clients and helped develop the Irish office. He moved to Merrion Capital in Dublin as Advisory Portfolio Manager before relocating to Spain to join Blevins Franks in 2016. Originally part of the team in Alicante, Cathal moved to the Balearics to become a Partner at the Mallorca office in 2019. He was promoted to Senior Partner in 2026.
Cathal has a Degree in Business Studies (B.B.S. Hons) and a Master’s Degree (M.A.). He also holds the Professional Diploma in Financial Advice from University College Dublin, the CFA UK Level 4 Certificate in Investment Management and the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) Investment Advice Diploma. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
Cathal has in-depth understanding of the Spanish tax regime, its interaction with UK rules and regulations and the key issues faced by British expatriates. As the local Senior Partner for Mallorca, he ensures our clients across the Balearic Islands receive quality, personalised wealth management and tax planning advice. He is supported locally by Regional Manager, Cara Follows; Senior Private Client Manager, Alejandro Pozuelo Taylor, and the administrative staff, as well as dedicated teams of tax, pension and investment specialists in Blevins Franks’ London and Malta offices.
Cathal is an adviser for Blevins Franks Wealth Management Limited (BFWML) which is registered with the Malta Financial Services Authority. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI).
