As a Private Client Manager, Guy Buckby focuses on providing clients with a clear and logical path towards their financial goals. Before joining Blevins Franks in 2025, Guy accumulated over 17 years of experience in financial services, specifically in pensions and investments in banks, financial institutions and family offices. His philosophy is rooted in common-sense decision-making, helping clients navigate complex financial landscapes with clarity and confidence, and ensuring they enjoy financial independence and peace of mind throughout their retirement.
Drawn to Blevins Franks by a desire to work for an organisation that truly puts its clients’ needs first, Guy brings a wealth of experience from client-facing, operational and fintech partnership roles. He relocated to France from Hong Kong to join our Bordeaux team, having previously lived in France on and off for eight years. His career has included roles with major institutions like Lloyds Banking Group in the UK and HSBC in Hong Kong, as well as various wealth management and insurance firms across Europe and Asia.
Guy’s extensive international background gives him a unique and personal understanding of the expatriate experience, including the challenges of moving abroad and managing cross-border finances in a tax-efficient and compliant manner.
A highly qualified professional, Guy holds the UK DipFA and CeFA accreditations and has been regulated by financial authorities in the UK (PRA/FCA), France (ORIAS/ANACOFI CIF), and Hong Kong (IA, SFC, HKMA). He is passionate about continued development and is currently working towards Chartered status.
When not assisting clients, Guy enjoys life in France with his wife and newborn son and rescue dog and cats from Hong Kong. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he has played everything from football and rugby to pickleball and sailing. He also dedicates time to volunteering and charitable causes.
