Ian qualified as a chartered accountant in 2004. He then became a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Accountants in 2009.

Ian spent eight years with Deloitte, working with high profile local clients of several industries. He was also seconded to London for a year as an Assistant Manager and formed part of the Audit team working on large engagements like the Abbey Bank Group and Merrill Lynch.

He joined Blevins Franks in 2007 as the Financial Controller for the Malta Companies but was then promoted to Group Financial Controller in 2011. In 2015 he was appointed as the Head of Finance of the Blevins Franks Group and subsequently promoted to Finance Director of all the Group subsidiaries in 2021.
