Nicole, Harri and Nicola are all qualified Chartered Tax Advisers, and now put their experience and expertise to use helping people understand the tax ramifications of buying property or moving abroad, in minimising their tax liabilities and passing wealth.

Advising on France, Spain, Portugal, Cyprus, Malta and Italy, as well as other countries, the tax advisory team specialise in providing advice on cross-border issues to individuals aiming to re-settle or invest in property abroad. In addition, they present seminars to the public and contribute to articles on this subject as well as to the Blevins Franks “Living in” and “Taxes in” guides. between generations as tax-efficiently as possible.

Nicole Booth

Nicole has specialised in expatriate tax since finishing her masters degree. She trained with two of the ‘Big 4’ firms before moving to Blevins Franks in 2003. Nicole has a linguist background. She is fluent in French and Spanish and also speaks Portuguese to a high level of competency. In her spare time, Nicole runs to keep fit, has completed several marathons and also practices yoga.

Harri Matikainen

Harri was born in Finland, but has now lived in the UK for many years. A maths graduate, studying at Imperial College and Cambridge, he formerly worked at Ernst & Young before joining Blevins Franks in 2006. Harri’s interests also include food and cooking, as well as travelling, opera and films.

Nicola Goldsmith

Nicola, having obtained her degree in law, joined Blevins Franks in 2004. She has previously worked in the tax department of a small firm and the (then) Inland Revenue. Nicola enjoys reading, cooking, reading about cooking, travelling and eating. To work off the results, she plays hockey.

Andrew Brown

Andrew qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1980 working for a large London firm of accountants. Following qualification he moved to the tax department, later joining a top 20 firm as tax partner. After taking an interest in offshore tax planning he became a director of a Guernsey trust company for six years before leaving to set up his own independent tax consultancy practice in the UK, where he built on his overseas experience with different types of offshore trusts (including employee benefit trusts), companies and offshore pension schemes.

Andrew has worked with Blevins Franks over many years but joined on a formal basis in January 2010.
