Gavin Scott - Senior Partner

Gavin is a Senior Partner of the Firm and has represented the interests of Blevins Franks in the Algarve since 2000; he has been advising expatriates since the early 1990s.

Before joining Blevins Franks, Gavin spent 7 years in the Sultanate of Brunei. Gavin was a founding Partner of an independent firm of financial consultants advising expatriates and high net-worth clients of many nationalities on all aspects of financial planning, including the use of offshore trusts for prudent tax and investment management. Prior to this Gavin was a financial consultant with the UK firm Allied Westminster Limited.

Gavin holds the full UK Financial Planning Certificate of the Chartered Insurance Institute by examination and is a Member of the Personal Finance Society by Certificate. He has also attended a number of offshore trust and investment courses in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Sydney.

Gavin lives near Loulé with his wife Joan and their two girls, Nikki and Cara. In his spare time he enjoys playing golf.

Gavin is authorised by the UK Financial Services Authority, individual reference number GXS01347. Blevins Franks Financial Management Limited is also authorised to give advice in Portugal.

Adrian Hook - Partner

Adrian has built up a wealth of investment and lending knowledge since joining the financial services industry in 1997.

In 2001 he was recruited to the highly successful firm of independent mortgage consultants, John Charcol, to offer holistic financial planning to their clients. He then went on to set up his own consultancy business in Bristol.

Adrian moved to Blevins Franks to assist the Senior Partner, Gavin Scott, provide a professional and complete wealth management service to new and existing clients. Working out of the busy Blevins Franks office in the Algarve, Adrian says: “Offering wealth management outside of the UK gives me the opportunity to help clients with a completely different set of needs to those based in their home country”.

Adrian lives north of Loulé with his partner Fiona and their 2 children, Gillespie and Alice. He enjoys all forms of water sports including scuba diving and surfing.
